Services

Our goal at Friend of a Friend is to empower children and families to achieve lifelong successes through the development of mind, body, and spirit.  Friend of a Friend develops long-lasting supportive relationships with youth and their families.  The agency will build a team of qualified providers and develop a customized service plan including referral sources and community based resources.

  • Mentoring

    Mentors work to provide ongoing support to youth and families.  Mentors are often residents of the neighborhoods in which they work.  They are knowledgeable of community resources and understand the culture of the youth and families being served.  Their goal is to support youth in community based activities, promote social/recreational involvement and provide positive influence.
  • Parent Coaching

    Parent Coaching is designed to assist parents or caregivers in developing effective parenting skills.  Parent Coaches are qualified individuals that specialize in developing, implementing and monitoring behavioral plans and/or strategies to establish positive home relationships.
  • Case Management

    Case Management is offered to families that need help locating and accessing community based services.  Case Managers are competent individuals who will work with families to achieve social, physical and financial goals.
  • After School/Summer Camp

    After school services are provided to youth and families in Travis and Williamson counties.  Youth enrolled in the program will receive homework assistance, tutoring and social/recreational interaction.  The agency also offers a Summer Camp from June-August.  Youth will participate in several  recreational activities as they explore the many community based attractions in Central Texas.
  • Respite

    Respite services are designed to assist families that require additional support.  Youth enrolled in services may qualify for respite services during school breaks and/or weekends.  Please contact agency for more information.
  • Life Skills Training

    Agency sponsored skills training in areas such as employment search, interviewing, money management and nutrition are offerred monthly.  Please view site for monthly calendar.
  • Community Support

    Agency provides individualized personal care/support to individuals with developmental disabilities.  Agency can provide one-to-one care including respite, supported employment, life skills and personal care.  Services provided by qualified staff in community or client home.


 

Friend of a Friend Youth and Family Services promotes cultural awareness and diversity.  The agency sponsors family oriented events to build relationship with  families in the community.
